“Where Have You Gone” is about a topic dear to my heart. Growing up in Parker, Arizona in the vicinity of the CRIT Reservation and then later performing at Tribal Casinos all across the United States I developed many friendships among the Indigenous Community. We cannot, we must not, forget our Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women. We must make our leaders, our government and the media more aware of this horrible situation that rarely makes the news. We MUST make the world aware.
lyrics
Where Have You Gone
Stars are fading from the purple morning sky
Silence shatters, heartbroken parents cry
No one should feel such pain in this world
Another search starting for a missing indigenous girl
Did some stranger send you to the great beyond?
My sisters, where have you gone?
Where have you gone?
Can love reach a place that far?
We try to carry on
Wish on a star
But the sky seems torn and scarred
Praying you’ll be found
Alive, safe and sound
We beg for answers
The government won’t respond
Where have you gone?
Where have you gone?
Family gathers, holding loved ones near
Another heavy step along the trail of tears
Your future vanished with the dawn
Oh, my sisters, where have you gone?
Where have you gone?
Can love reach a place that far?
We try to carry on
Wish on a star
But the sky seems torn and scarred
Praying you’ll be found
Alive, safe and sound
We put the word out
The media won’t respond
Where have you gone?
Where have you gone?
They treat you like a throwaway
Like you’d go away for nothing
Like you had no dreams to build your life upon
Where have you gone?
Can love reach a place that far?
We try to carry on
Wish on a star
But the sky seems torn and scarred
Praying you’ll be found
Alive, safe and sound
We shout in the canyons
So an echo might respond
Where have you gone?
Where have you gone?
