Monday through Friday, she lives in her big city world
The weekend will wash that away when she's my river girl
A five-hour drive, while she rocks out, it’s time to unwind,
A great big smile on her face as she hits the state line
She climbs on out of the truck with her beach towel unfurled
She hits that Blue Water – and man, she’s my sweet river girl!

Oh goodness, oh gracious she needs this oasis
She knows it’s not just a mirage
The splashing, the playing, the wide open spaces
Her other life is camouflage

She’s fighting the current, she’s loaded her Mega Chill 2
We’re beating the heat while we’re having a sweet rendezvous

The radio’s blasting, the inner tube makes a good seat
My river girl spills out we’re floating downstream
The wave runners hum and we’re living a summertime dream

A raft or a pontoon, a pulsing Kid Rock tune
It’s time for a holiday
The mornings, the evenings, our buddies at high noon

Some river girls live real close – and some come from beyond
Short or tall, a redhead, a brunette, a blonde
They laugh and they dive as they’re rocking cool braids or a weave
